Music set to the open-ended theme of Discovery. Your drumline can discover the outer reaches of space, the microsopic world of the atom, the magics of lost worlds, or the abstracts of art. Designed as a single piece, Discovery starts with open, metallic percussion, leading the way for a soothing mallet introduction. When the full ensemble enters, the exciting adventure towards your discoveries begin with fast-paced battery accompaniment; a light, dancy bridge; a slow, serene ballad; a thundering final section that builds into your last, best discovery.

Originally commissioned by the Lincoln High School drumline of 2007/08 in Stockton, CA, under the direction of Shawn Hines.

Difficulty Level 2.5 for: Faster tempos; polyrhythms; more complex layering of parts, 4-mallet keyboard work. Great for the intermediate ensemble that needs to work on a few remaining basics before "advancing to the next level."
